I also wanted to repeat the 2,4ghz signal, so on the 2,4ghz radio settings i set-up the configurations to run as an AP and set the same SSID of the main router (home) BUT since its an AP and in order to no have a conflict with the main router signal i set the channel to 1 so it wont overlap with the 40mhz signal that is already stablished. So, i went trough the wiki for a repeater bridge and set the 5ghz radio as a repeater bridge with the same SSID (home5) of the main router and created a virtual interface (SSID: home5) so clients can connect to the network on this device. Since this router is dual band, i've installed dd-wrt v24-sp2 and used the 5ghz radio to do a bridge between it and the main router. Repeater 2: Use to repeat to another part of the house, this is the RT-N66U, and wheres the problem that i can't solve. Repeater 1: TPLINK with DD-wrt (Atheros chipset) used to repeat the 2,4ghz signal to one part of the house, and just repeating the channel 11 signal with a 20mhz band with the same SSID. Main Router: RT-AC66u connected directly to the modem and broadcasting two signals, one on 5ghz 40mhz with primary channel 159( SSID: home5), and other on 2,4ghz 40mhz with primary channel 11 (SSID:home). I'm trying to cover my house with wireless signal allover it, so i can roam and access my network at all the places with a significant wireless signal since i have a 100mpbs link which i dont want to go wasted =) Hi everyone! first i would like to thanks any response to this issue, as i've been looking around for an answer for while now i didn't quite get a solid one on that.
To other sifus out there you are welcome to correct any missteps or advise on improvements that can be done to get this router working with DDWRT.Posted: Sun 6:28 Post subject: Rt-n66u dual band repeater - how to ?1 At least this is what I did to get it working. If all done correctly you will get working Unifi and hypptv and the other LAN ports can still be used for internet.
Select manual for MTU and key in 1492 and apply settings. Unbridged eth0 and enable both multicast and masquerade/nat.Īfter reboot go to setup>basic setup>connection type and select PPPOE and key in your unifi credentials. Unbridged eth0.600 and enable both multicast forwarding and maquerade/nat. This is to prevent mulitcast from flooding the wifi.Įbtables -A FORWARD -o ath0 -pkttype-type multicast -j DROPĮbtables -A OUTPUT -o ath0 -pkttype-type multicast -j DROPĮbtables -A FORWARD -o ath1 -pkttype-type multicast -j DROPĮbtables -A OUTPUT -o ath1 -pkttype-type multicast -j DROPĪfter reboot go to setup>networking and unbridged eth0.500 and enable masquerade/NAT. Swconfig dev eth0 vlan 4 set ports "0t 1t 5 6t"Īnd put this script in the same startup field again and click save firewall. Swconfig dev eth0 vlan 3 set ports "1t 6t" Swconfig dev eth0 vlan 1 set ports "0 2 3 4" Put this script in administration>commands>startup then save startup Note that with this script you will get IPTV on LAN4 and other LAN ports still working for the internet. This is my startup script that I gather from searching and reading the DDWRT forum to get Unifi and HyppTV working nicely.
